My name is Agnes Knott, and as the new Youth Ministry Coordinator at St. Raymond’s, I’d like to personally invite you to join us. High school goes by quickly, so jump in and get involved. I’m excited about our programs and would like to highlight some of the opportunities we have for you to get involved. Please consider participating in at least one, or many, of our programs. YOU are what make them special and fun!
What is Youth Ministry?
It is any of our programs for teens like you—-a chance to get involved at St. Raymond’s, be with other teens who share your faith, and have fun. We need YOU to make it happen!
- To make friends
- To keep junior high friendships alive in high school
- To talk about things that matter to you
- To deepen your faith
- To expand your worldview by serving others
- To have fun
Branches Home groups
Branches is a wonderful opportunity for high school teens to get together with 10-15 other teens who meet twice a month on Sunday evenings in the homes of adult leaders. Groups are designed for you to discuss your faith, share current issues that challenge you, and pray for your concerns. And, they are a lot of fun! Registration for Branches is now open. Please register by August 15th.See forms below. We will have an Opening Mass to start the year, and groups usually begin meeting in mid-September. Your leaders will contact you to introduce themselves and give you important information. Returning Branches students—be sure to re-register and send in your payment.
Service Opportunities/Mission Trip
For many teens and adults, service to others is a way to live out our Catholic call to social justice and make an impact on the lives of others, as well as their own. We will provide varied service opportunities in the area. In addition, St Raymond’s offers a week-long Mission Trip in the summer where teens and chaperones have the chance to spend a week serving others and deepening their faith. Watch the bulletin for information on service opportunities and our 1st meeting about the Mission Trip.
Teens learn best from other teens. We need you to help put on various retreats & prayer services and to recruit other teens. We are always looking for good leaders!
Enrich your own mass experience by getting more involved—become a Lector, a Eucharistic Minister, or a singer. Contact the YM Office for training information.
Retreats are a way to spend time with other teens and deepen your faith. At several high schools where I taught, teens found their Kairos retreat experiences to be life-changing. We would love to make retreat experiences more available to teens at St. Raymond’s. I am interested in any ideas or experiences you have to share.
We hope to have more social opportunities available for teens to be together just to have fun. This past year, our Branches’ groups had a movie night and Ski Trip. We look forward to more fun times together!
I look forward to seeing you this year!
