The Seamless Garment Ministry is proud to be working with St. Mary’s Services in Arlington Heights during the month of October, Respect Life month. St. Marys’ Services, Founded in 1887 by the Episcopal Sisters of St. Mary, is dedicated to helping women experiencing unplanned pregnancies who are considering adoption. Their Hopeful Beginnings Teen Parenting Program works in conjunction with district 214 to provide students with facts, information, and resources concerning pregnancy, labor and delivery, and parenting. Pregnancy, almost always described as unplanned for a teenager, is a difficult and confusing time, and those at Hopeful Beginnings understand the seriousness and sensitivity that goes along with counseling and educating these new parents. Their vision is for these students to graduate high school, and continue to pursue their life goals, while using the skills and lessons learned through this program to be loving, caring parents. They also provide preparation and placement services to families pursuing domestic infant adoption and help both birth and adoptive families before, during and after placement. St. Raymond received a request from St. Mary’s Services and District 214 to help support their Hopeful Beginnings program by collecting new winter baby outerwear (snowsuits, hats, mittens, boots, etc.) for newborn — three year old children. There will be a collection box in the bride’s room for donations the weekends of October 21st-22nd and October 28th-29th The outerwear will be given to their clients at a special dinner on November 13th . There are currently 25-30 teen moms from district 214 in this program and it would be a wonderful way to show our Respect for Life by donating to this inspirational ministry.
St. Raymond will be featured as Parish of the Week on Relevant Radio’s Patrick McCormack Show “On the Front Porch” with a focus on the story of the Rosary Makers. Fr.
